Ohh Karol you phpBB god ..... you answered all the questions I was just going to ask in one post!!!
I know from doing a bit of work on phpBB3.1 the changes are MASSIVE and the possibilities it opens up are also MASSIVE
The reason I decided to stick all my eggs in the Rocket Theme basket was from an earlier topic ( www.rockettheme.com/forum/phpbb-general-...et-theme-phpbb-plans ) I asked what the plans were and the responses I got from the team concreted who I was going to stick with
At the moment there are only 6 to 10 templates written for phpBB3.1 all based around Prosilver with little imagination and the modifications most of us use have not been rewritten yet ...... soooo its going to be 6 months wait minimum until I upgrade my forums so a wait for the rocket team to get there side going is well worth the wait
my mind is sure at ease ...... now I just have to find a sucker to rewrite Tumba's forum sort order mod WOOPS sorry extension (makes it so the forums read more like a blog with the order being by when the topic was posted)
As Karol mentioned DON'T rush off and update unless you want to run the bog standard phpBB3.1.1 (.1 = first security issue hehe)
WAIT a good frw months and see what the team come up with ...... if its gantry based its going to knock the socks off ANYTHING the phpBB template crew have already
Its also good to see Roeland working on Rokbridge for 3.1 ...... I can see why like many other authors he nearly thew his hands up when they did a total rewrite between beta releases but im so proud of him for continuing
I understand the the release of gantry 5 and 3.1 has mad things a little difficult planning what is released but I dont care as I know whatever you guys (n gals) come up with will make the opposition look like dinosaurs
So a HUGE thanks for the update Karol!!!!
For those that dont know what tis phpBB3.1 business is ......
Its a TOTAL rewrite of the code ..... they might as well have called it phpBB5.1
No more Modding
No more touching the phpBB code
All mods are now called EXTENSIONS
updates etc will be more or less identical to Joomla (well think of phpBB as a mini joomla now)
So there are massive changes so if you do update and have a rocket template ..... IT WONT WORK ......... yet

Still I'm so excited about phpbb. Did you play with twig templating engine ? Man.. It's just so simple, yet soo cool..
It's easy to learn but powerful when you use it. I'm totally in love Hope to release some phpbb 3.1 goods soon

I have a website that uses Joomla 2.5.27 with the Media Mogul template & phpBB 3.0.12 with the Media Mogul template also.
Do you know if the Gantry 5 will be compatible with Joomla 2.5.27? If so do you know if it will be compatible with Media Mogul?

- OK, in which case where do I got ot get my money back, I specifically asked your support staff before buying if your themse are 3.1.x ready and I got an email abck saying yes they are. So since this was wrong information I have no use for a membership here unfortunatly. Maybe one day in teh future, but not now. Thanks

Hey,
I am very interested in hearing an update on this. I appreciate the huge amount of effort you guys put into updating all the themes and templates every time a platform has a large update.
I am creating a new forum at the moment using the same theme as my main website and feel it is at the point where you guys are close to releasing phpBB 3.1 style updates. I really want to use phpBB 3.1 however can not wait more then a month (maybe a little more) before launch this forum.
I would prefer not to launch my forum on phpBB 3.0 if 3.1 is close to save the hassle of a redo so soon after launching the forum.
Can you say if it is possible 3.1 styles will be releasing soon? like within the next month or 2? also where is the best place to follow for updates on this? This forum topic?

If everything goes well, march template gonna be the first one to be released for phpBB 3.1 with some cool new features
Currently there is no schedule which older templates gonna be converted, which aren't.
Regarding Gantry for phpBB
Gantry 5 gonna be released first for Joomla, then for Wordpress and phpBB gonna follow a little bit later.
Reassuming, phpBB 3.1 is coming soon for RocketTheme, Gantry 5 for phpBB, a little bit later
